Nainital, Sep 2 (PTI) A criminal complaint was filed on Monday against BJP leader and administrator of Uttarakhand Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited Mukesh Bora and his driver for allegedly raping a widow after she was offered a permanent job, police said.

Bora — who was removed from his post as administrator of Uttarakhand Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited in Nainital — and his driver Kamal Belwal were arrested on charges of rape and criminal intimidation based on the woman’s complaint.

According to the victim, Bora had forced her into physical sex several times over the past three years and threatened her with serious consequences if she objected or told anyone about it.

His driver, in addition to making threats, also raped her.

According to the complaint filed by the woman, when she came to Lalkuan in 2021 after the death of her husband, Bora arranged for her to work as a casual worker in the cooperative through outsourcing.

After some time, under the pretext of hiring her permanently, he invited her to his hotel room and forcibly engaged in physical contact with her.

He then threatened to lose her job if she told anyone. Bora continued to abuse her, threatening to spread photos and videos of her on social media if she told anyone.

The woman also claimed that Bora pressured her to have physical relations with his friends. When she refused, they threatened to kill her and her children. The accused’s driver also threatened to kill her.

The District Officer (Lalkuan) Sangeeta recorded the statement of the victim and initiated proceedings against Bora and Kamal.
