Police identify man killed in Phoenix ‘family dispute’

PHOENIX – Police have released the identity of a man found dead in a Phoenix “family dispute” that ended in death.

Police responded to a report of a shooting Sunday morning around 12:10 a.m. near Black Canyon Freeway and West Thunderbird Road.

When officers arrived, they found 28-year-old Darius Rain with a gunshot wound to the head. Rain was taken to the hospital where he died. A suspect was arrested.

When detectives conducted interviews,The suspect told detectives he shot Rain in self-defense.

No other information was made available.

The case is still ongoing.
