Former Metropolitan Police officer charged with child sex offences

A former Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with a number of child sex offences.

Adam Merriman, 37, of Bletchley, Milton Keynes, has been charged with sexual assault of a child under 13 by touching them, six counts of arranging or facilitating the commission of a sexual offence against a child and three counts of making indecent images of a child.

He was also charged with possessing offensive pornographic material, possessing a prohibited image of a child and three counts of making an indecent image of a child.

Mr Merriman is due to appear at Westminster District Court on Wednesday.
