Nebraska man dies after paraglider crashes into garage roof

DUNCAN, Neb. (WOWT) – A Nebraska man died Monday in a hang gliding accident.

Platte County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a plane crash about five miles southwest of Duncan, Nebraska, just north of U.S. Highway 30 at about 12:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, authorities found 50-year-old David Bower of Columbus, Nebraska, strapped to an experimental ultralight trike — a one-person hang glider. It crashed through the roof of a garage, and Bower was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by PCSO and the Federal Aviation Administration.
