KCPD identifies 2 women killed in head-on collision in Northland

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Police have identified the two women killed in a head-on collision in Northland Sunday night.

The Kansas City Police Department in Missouri said 36-year-old Amber Rainey and 33-year-old Christa Brodigan were killed Sunday, September 1, in a head-on collision on Parvin Road.

The crash happened just before 8.30pm on Sunday when a silver Mitsubishi Outlander with two passengers under the age of 18 was speeding east on Parvin Road when, for unknown reasons, it crossed the double yellow lines. The Mitsubishi hit a blue Ford Transit van that was travelling westbound head-on.

Police said Rainey was the driver of the Mitsubishi and died at the scene. Brodigan was the driver of the Ford and was taken to hospital where she later died.

These are the 65th and 66th road fatalities this year in Kansas City, Missouri.

Two young passengers in the Mitsubishi were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
