Schools, colleges closed, orange alert issued in several districts in AP due to heavy rain

An orange alert has been issued for NTR and Krishna districts, indicating a possibility of heavy rainfall and potential flooding in the next 24 hours.

Due to the continued impact of heavy rains and floods, schools and colleges will remain closed on Wednesday, September 4 in several districts of Andhra Pradesh. The state education department has extended the vacation for schools and colleges in response to the severe floods, especially in NTR district. The decision was taken on the directive of the Collector to ensure the safety of students.

An orange alert has been issued for NTR and Krishna districts, indicating a possibility of heavy rainfall and potential flooding in the next 24 hours. A yellow alert is also in force for Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, Eluru, Bapatla, Guntur, NTR and Krishna districts.

We advise students and parents to stay up to date on weather conditions and prepare accordingly.

Moreover, the Meteorological Department has also forecast heavy rainfall in various districts of Telangana including Asifabad, Mancherial, Bhupalpalli, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Khammam, Hanmakonda and Janagama.
