BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Good morning!

NEXT 24 HOURS: It will be a pleasant, breezy day, with wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour coming from the east.

Wednesday, expect a good mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid to late 80s. We stay dry during the day. A few scattered showers could develop overnight, mainly after 10 p.m. in western Alabama.

NEXT BIG THING: Rain will increase Thursday into Friday afternoon. The best rain will be along and south of Interstate 20. If you live closer to Highway 278, rain will be limited through the end of the week. SIDELINE Friday night games will be dry.

WEEKEND: We are tracking another cold front into the weekend. This front will bring a wave of very dry air, with highs in the 80s on Saturday. By Sunday morning, we can expect temperatures to drop into the low 50s in parts of our region.

This taste of fall will continue into early Monday. Dry weather is currently forecast to continue into the middle of next week.

We are observing numerous disturbances over the tropics, but at present no major atmospheric systems are predicted and there are no tropical threats.
