1 killed, 2 injured in UTV crash in Juneau County

A driver was killed and two passengers were injured and taken to a hospital in a UTV crash in Juneau County Saturday evening, the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office said.

A 911 caller reported the crash on 14th Avenue in Necedah around 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Sheriff Andrew Zobal said in a statement.

Juneau County police officers found the UTV with three people in a ditch on the opposite side of the road, Zobal said.

The driver, 52-year-old Victor M. Navas of Chicago, died at the scene, a backseat passenger suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and a front-seat passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Zobal said.

Zobal said Navas and the backseat passenger were not wearing seat belts.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
