Police: Man drove over 100mph on Northway while drunk

A Staten Island man has been charged with driving over 100 mph on the Northway while intoxicated.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, 54-year-old Ernest R. Castagna was driving at 103 mph between exits 22 and 23 in Lake George early Wednesday morning.

Castagna was under the influence of alcohol, according to police. A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.11 percent, which is above the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Castagna was charged with driving under the influence. He was released pending a future court appearance in Lake George Town.
